OLIVIA

Surrounded by gorgeous models can be daunting and make you feel very small, not necessarily petit but maybe stumpy? however this 'stumpy' self doubt quickly left my 'train of thought' when seeing my designs worn on these ever so gorgeous creatures, it is very rewarding, especially when a model like; Coco Rocha is wearing one of your pieces. I was almost star-struck when meeting Australian stunner Bambi, especially since I am on stalker/obsession level with her 'beauty'.

speaking of gorgeous, I have to mention socialite/(The City star, pictured above) Olivia Palermo, despite her reputation I thought she seemed lovely, like the models there was absolutely no hesitation when i asked to take her photo...bless

Øya

As a designer, this festival is a creative haven, being surrounded by Scandinavian beauties who seem to be born with natural style. Not only were the people inspirational but, the venue and festival as well. When you enter the festival you will find yourself on historic grounds, Øya is held in ‘Middelaldersparken’ a picturesque spot surrounded by the Oslo Fjords, the ‘troll-esque’ forest of Ekeberg hill and the urban cityscape of oslo city. This is the exact site where the capital was founded over a thousand years ago. Now where else in the world can you be seated on ancient ruins whilst watching your favorite international bands with a beer in hand? Speaking of bands they had an incredible international line-up, including: Iggy & The Stooges, The National, M.I.A, LCD Sound-system, Big Boi, Jónsi, la roux, Surfer Blood, Local Natives to name a few. The gigs take place on four different stages spread across the festival grounds in close proximity so you don’t need to worry about having to walk very far. As the days performances wind down the festivities carry on into the night in several different nightclubs spread across Oslo which may I add is only a 10min walk from the festival grounds.

If you like your festivals aesthetically and musically beautiful, easily accessible, with a ‘kick-ass atmosphere and line up too boot this is the festival for you, see you next year!
